Wildlife

Butterfly species have been recorded from the site by means of a permanent transect since 1999.

23 species have been recorded, including Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper, Speckled Wood, Ringlet and Comma.

There is a colony of the rare Chimney sweeper moth in the community woodland.

Notable plant species include locally rare climbing corydalis (Ceratocapnos claviculata syn. Corydalis claviculata). Masses of pignut (Conopodium major) and Lesser Celandine (Ranunculus ficaria) in the community woodland. Hay meadows at their best in June with abundant yellow rattle (Rhinanthus minor agg.)
