Wildlife

A network of informal paths cross the site and lead you through dune grassland, a wooded coppice, across the Gwithian Stream and through the wetland area past two ponds. Butterflies are regularly monitored on the site and can be seen frequently including some rare and interesting species. The ponds have good amphibian populations and plenty of mini beasts to find, with many birds, including snipe and birds of prey, making the Local Nature Reserve their home. Gwithian Green is also carpeted in wildflowers with the best time to see these being in late spring.
