Kilminorth Woods Local Nature Reserve is located just the historic
fishing port of Looe in south-east Cornwall. It is a beautiful
ancient woodland site, which runs adjacent to the estuary of the
West Looe
River. The reserve has many paths running through it, including
a permissive bridleway available to cyclists and horse riders as
well
as walkers. There is also a relatively level, surfaced path leading
to the water’s edge (offering excellent views up and down the
estuary), which is suitable for accompanied wheelchair users.
The
woods contain part of a linear Scheduled Ancient Monument called
the Giant’s Hedge.
A leaflet about the site ‘Explore Kilminorth Woods’ is
available from the South East Cornwall Discovery Centre located
at the Looe end of the Millpool car-park (free entry).
