Wildlife on the Red River

There are some excellent habitats along the Red River Local Nature Reserve and many different species of animal and plants have been seen and recorded there. Dragonflies thrive on the wetland areas, as do birds, insects and butterflies which love the plants and flowers. Foxes, badgers, shrews and otters have also been observed in the area. If you see something interesting as you use the Local Nature Reserve contact Kerrier District Council or the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. You may have spotted something new!

The Red River Valley is home to many interesting species of plants, insects and animals. Many of them can be seen throughout the Local Nature Reserve but there are some special things to look out for as you pass through the many habitats along the Red River
