Introduction

Seaton Valley Local Nature Reserve and Seaton Valley North (proposed LNR) lie in the floodplain of the River Seaton. Together they form a beautiful and varied reserve of some 38 hectares with areas of ancient woodland, 3 large ponds, wet woodland, meadows and of course the river Seaton running throughout their length. There is a level, surfaced path running through the lower part of the reserve (the Valley Trail), ideal for wheelchair and pushchair users (and also available to considerate cyclists). The upper part of the reserve is accessed by a narrow footpath, (the Otter Nature Trail), which can be muddy at times and has boardwalk sections along it (so unfortunately not accessible for wheelchairs / pushchairs / cyclists).
